DERBY PORCELAIN - A good Derby 'named view' plate, painted by George Robertson with a view 'Near Aylsham, Norfolk', within gilt Greek key and leafy borders, 9.5in diam, title, crown, crossed batons, dots and D in blue, c.1797 (see illustration) George Robertson worked at Derby from 1796 to 1820. He was one of the factory's leading artist-decorators, noted for the richness of colour and detail in his landscapes and shipping scenes.
