DELUXE WINCHESTER 2ND MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF 44-40). Beautiful special order rifle with 24” oct bbl, button magazine, half-nickel front sight and early semi-buckhorn rear sight with checkered edges. It has the screwed on dust cover rail and case colored receiver. Wood is highly figured burly walnut with early style checkered forearm and straight stock with crescent case color buttplate with trap. Accompanied by Cody Museum yellow sheet. SN 79038. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 94-96% original blue turning plum with light, sharp edge wear and a small ding on the right side. The receiver retains about 95% original case colors, brilliant in sheltered areas, fading to silver on the top and bottom. The lever retains 30-40% faded case colors with the balance turned silver. The hammer retains about 95% bright case colors. The foreend tip retains about 60% dark case colors with the balance turned silver. The buttplate retains 95-97% strong case colors, slightly faded. Wood is sound and retains about all of a fine professionally restored finish. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-49975 JR191
