Bruxelles, Société belge de Librairie, (impr. Maison Bourlard), 1889. In-4° : faux titre, xi ff. dont le frontispice gravé par Karl d'après Constantin Meunier, 1 f. de justification. Rel. d'éd. : plats illustrés (provenant de la couv. de brochage), dos en demi-cuir (pour cet ex. en peau), tête dorée (plats salis, dos abimé en q. et tête).
EXEMPLAIRE D'AUTEUR tiré sur "double opaline" (effet proche de la peau de vélin), non signalé à la justification mais signé par Delmer sous la mention "Exemplaire d'auteur". Edition anopistographe dont chaque fond de page est illustré de dessins relatifs au monde de la mine (en noir) et de fleurs (en sanguine) par Meunier et gravés par son fils aîné Karl, graveur de promesse qui mourut en 1894, la même année que son frère. Le reste de l'édition est tiré à 100 ex. (10 japon et 90 sur double opaline).
L'auteur reste inconnu des bibliographies, bien que qqs-uns de ses ouvrages, sauf le nôtre, soient répertoriés dans la Bibliogr. nationale : "L'esclave, drame antiesclavagiste et national" (1890),- "L'esclavage africain" (1891),- "Les parias de l'art... à l'occasion de la 25e expo annuelle du Cercle artistique "Als ik kan"" (1892),- "L'art en cour d'assises, étude sur l'oeuvre litt. et sociale de Camille Lemonnier" (1893), "Les livres d'or de la science" (1899). Notre ouvrage, mêlant le wallon et le français, relate l'histoire d'un enfant dont le père a été arrêté comme activiste pendant la grève du borinage en 1886 mais dont la famille s'en sort grâce au curé.

After full payment, buyers are kindly requested to take away their purchases immediately after the auction or at the bookshop the next Tuesday after the auction 230 av. Louise, from 2 pm until 6 pm.
Goods will be send only after customers’ payment.
Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.
Books whose price exceed 100 (EUR) will be send by registered post.
Payment Details:
Payment will be made in Belgian Francs. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 200 (EUR) or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Ero's (EUR)
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 1250 EUR
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
On every purchase Belgian law only is applicable, and all cases of dispute are exclusively to the competence of the Brussels Chamber.
