EPHEMERA. Frames vary from civil war era to modern, items were not examined out of frame, a few details are noted: 1) Total of 53 framed Confederate & Civil War era obsolete notes in 8 frames. CONDITION: appear good to very good overall. 2) 3 Framed portraits of unknown soldiers.CONDITION: good to very good overall. 3) 2 Framed discharges of Thomas Carver, 20th PA Vols, & William Murphy 22nd PA Vols. CONDITION: cracks at folds, acid burn on private Murphy, Pvt. Carver good to very good overall. 4) Rare “Gen. TJ Jackson” Kurz & Allison lithograph, 18x25" exposed image, CONDITION: appears good to very good w/ water staining at bottom margin. 5) 1883 Copyrighted “Sherman’s March to the Sea” 27.5 x 22.75" exposed image, this famous print shows Sherman tearing up railroad, slaves fleeing, burning homes, US cavalry chasing retreating Confederate cavalry. CONDITION: fair, image w/ good detail, acid burn, water staining. 6) Kurz & Allison color lithographs. 7) 1864 Dated lithographic escutcheon for Co. I, 34th Illinois volunteer infantry. CONDITION: missing bottom left corner, otherwise good. 17 x 23" Exposed image. 8) Engravings of 3 US generals. 9) Framed May 23, 1861 New York Times, Front page is all war news. CONDITION: very good overall. Other frames have wartime documents, misc. lithographs, 4 LIFE magazines w/ Civil War Centennial information, CONDITION: overall fair to very good.
