(1751 - 1829) American military officer and Secretary of War, fought at Bunker Hill, in Arnold's Quebec expedition, at Wyoming Valley, and, in the War of 1812 took Fort George and York with heavy losses. Very late A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Boston, April 20, 1829 written less than two months before his death to Capt. House of the Schooner Glib and writes in part: ""...the Articles you take on freight for use you will please to deliver to Mrs. Kefers & Paye Merchants in Hallowell [Maine]..."". He continues by listing the pieces including cart wheels, a grind stone and paint. Very good condition.
