DE VERE ( Sir Aubrey ). Mary Tudor. An historical drama in two parts, and Sonnets. Basil Montagu Pickering, 1875Pages li, (1), large 12mo, original mauve cloth, gilt : a very good to nice copy, inscribed on front flyleaf "Lady Ferguson / from Aubrey de Vere / May 3. 1880".His most ambitious work, first published, posthumously, in 1847. His son republished it in 1875, with a 9-page memoir of his father and a 32-pp introduction to the verse drama. In this present volume, we have the preliminary leaves, the memoir and the introduction only, in an original publisher's unlettered binding, gilt : presumably this specially prepared volume was intended for circulation amongst close family and friends with a view to possible corrections.ALSO WITH THIS LOT: (1) LANYON ( Helen ). The Hill O' Dreams, and other verses. Dublin : Sealy, Bryers and Walker, 1909. FIRST EDITION, 32-pages, 12mo, original brown cloth, gilt : a nice copy.
