DC-23a $1 1917
The popular "Princess Patricia" note, so named for its central vignette of the Princess, the daughter of former Governor General The Duke of Connaught. That this wartime issue portrays Princess Patricia is not surprising, as the Princess lent her name and assistance to raising a regiment named the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, designing the regiment's colors and becoming its colonel-in-chief. All of the varieties are available in most grades, although strictly uncirculated examples can be difficult to locate. PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45.
From The Thomas M.
