Original 1945 woodcut "Danger over Mexico" by Leopoldo Mendez (1902-1969), most likely the greatest Mexico graphic Artist. For his subject the artist has chosen 1945 topic of political life and struggle in Mexico. As the recorder and commentator of the events, the artist shows himself in the foreground. The Eagle, crucified, symbolizes Mexico sacrificed to the forces of reaction who emerge from the serpent of evil and march in procession toward Mexico City in the background. Mendez clearly shows in all of his work that he stems from the great popular artist of Mexico, Jose Guadalupe Posada. This graphic Art is in excellent condition, mounted in matted like portfolio.
