GAME GUN. Cal. 28 Ga. SN 6837. 25" dovetail lump bbls, flats stamped w/1983 Birmingham Nitro proofs for 2 3/4" shells. Tops of bbls engraved "E.J. CHURCHILL (Gunmakers)" / "Orange St Gunworks. Leicester Square London", gold inlaid "XXV" near breech on slightly raised swamped game rib. Case hardened scrollback boxlock action features automatic safety & dbl. triggers. Tastefully engraved in well-executed flowing scroll work. "E.J. Churchill" is on each side of action. Top lever, floorplate and single beaded trigger guard are blued & engraved w/ matching scroll. Trigger plate engraved "Hercules" "Finest XXV Quality" ("XXV" is in gold) "Model". Mounted in dark streaked figured European walnut. Straight grip buttstock measures 14 1/2" over checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering at grip w/ matching splinter ejector forend and Anson release. Left: Bore diameter: .550 Restriction: .028 (full). Right bore diameter: .550 Restriction: .030 (full). Wall thickness: Left: .035. Right: .031. DAC: 1 3/8" DAH: 2 1/16". No cast. WEIGHT: 5 lbs. 6 oz. CONDITION: very fine. Bbls retain most of the origl blue, thinning on sides. Action retains approx. 95% of vibrant orig case color. Stocks retain over 95% orig oil finish w/ some handling marks & dings as associated with light field use. Bright shiny bores. Action is tight.
