Manufacturer: Colt Model: Single Action
Manufactured in 1901and subsequently custom embellished in the late 20th century. This is a beautiful example of a cattle brand and scroll custom engraved 2nd Generation Colt Single Action Army revolver done by Master Engraver David Wade Harris. Harris was taught the art of cattle brand engraving by Weldon Bledsoe, who in turn learned the art from Cole Agee. Except for the trigger guard, front strap, cylinder flutes and hammer, the revolver is covered with cattle brands and floral scroll engraving with a punch dot background. The most recognizable cattle brand is the 2 lazy 2 P brand on the front of the ejector housing and the famous Running W on the right side front of the barrel. Other brands include "HIT, "101" and XIT". The butt has the signature of Harris "D W HARRIS". There is a star burst on the trigger guard. The standard barrel and frame markings remain, and the matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The revolver is fitted with two piece stag grips. Comes with a leather belt with 16 cartridge loops and holster.
