Collection of five items, highlighted by a rare copy of the libretto for the premiere of Griffith’s film at the Clunes Auditorium on February 8, 1915, under its original name The Clansman, 5.5 x 8, 16 pages. Weeks later, it would open in New York City, with its new title The Birth of a Nation. Also included are an original program for Birth of a Nation; an oversize press kit for Abraham Lincoln; press kit for The Love Flower (missing front cover); and a July 1921 issue of The Mentor. Libretto is in fine, clean condition. Other items rate very good with expected age wear and some dampstaining. The programs for Griffith’s classics are found easily, but not the libretto.
