Dovetailed silver finished blade front and notch rear sights, with "D DOUGLASS" stamped in block letters on the top flat, scroll engraving on the hammer and front of the lock, a scene of ducks in flight on the rear, with "(illegible)/WARRANTED" under the drum bolster and a pair of double-set triggers and a silver finished hand rest trigger guard. Brass tipped stock, with a wooden ramrod, and engraved German silver plate on the underside, an engraved brass reverse plate, and engraved Germans silver starburst on the raised cheekpiece, engraved brass patch box lid, and a smooth buttplate. Consignor notes identify the maker as David Douglas of Frankstown Township, Blaire County, Pennsylvania, circa 1850-1860.

Condition: Good, showing a mixed crisp brown and gray patina overall, dents on the left side of the chamber area. Scattered handling marks and significant pitting around the drum. Stock is very good, with some chipping around the lock and scattered pressure dents. Mechanically good.
