The CZ 70 also called the VZ 70, short for VZOR 70 was developed especially for police in former Czechoslovakia in Strakonice by Kratochvil brothers. Later this model was also produced in Uhersky Brod. In 1970, the CZ 70 replaced the CZ 50 and became the standard sidearm of Czechoslovak armed forces and police until 1983.
