Customized U.S. marked Colt SAA revolver with history to famous exhibition shooter Gus Peret, .38 Special cal., 5-1/2” barrel, blue finish, custom checkered wood grips, #119679. This gun is in overall excellent conditionas customized showing approx. 98% high quality re-blue finish, fine bore, crisp action, sharp markings, very good grips with several mars from storage on the left grip; frame shows “U.S.” marking on left side oflower frame and “D.F.C.” stamped on frame above the serial number stamp; all matching visible numbers, re-barreled and cylindered. Accompanied by a binder containing several articles on Peret and an original letterdated March 15, 1983 on Remington Arms Co. letterhead signed by R.A. Baldwin, Advertising Manager that in part states: “The Colt SA you own, U.S. marked, .38 Special, #119679 was customized for Mr.Peret’s exhibition shooting acts. Mr. Peret was hired by Peters in 1915 and continued under their employ until the Company merged with Remington in 1933. He retired from Remington in 1946 and died in the early
