Customized Ballard number 6 style Schuetzen rifle, .25-20 caliber, 27” heavy round barrel of modern manufacture, deluxe burl wood stocks, also of contemporary manufacture. Blue and case hardened finish, Schuetzen butt, double set triggers. Serial number “3184”. The rifle shows an unmarked heavy bull or target barrel, which measures nearly 1-3/8” across the muzzle. The gun is of heavy weight at approx 15.25lbs. The rifle shows approx. 98-99% blue and case hardened finish, applied at the time of customization. The stock shows a flaming burl wood grain and is nicely made with a high rise cheek piece and German type Schuetzen belly. The rifle shows modern design double set triggers, the rear of the frame is drilled and tapped for a tang sight (now missing), there is a stud for palm rest (now missing) mounted into the fore end, and blocks for a scope mounted in the barrel. The action is tight, the bore is near excellent. See Lot# 409 for scope used with this rifle. The quality of the work on this rifle is excellent and comes from the estate of a well known Bay-area competitive shooter. Est.: $1,750-$3,500.
