Custom bolt-action sporting rifle on Winchester pre-64 model 70 barreled action, serial #497985, in .30-06 caliber. The rifle is finely stocked in select walnut with beautiful fine checkering pattern withborders and fleur de lis, probably Shelhammer or Frank Pachmayr. The rifle shows good quality engraving on floorplate, triggerguard, frame, and barrel. The stock shows a fancy select rosewood forend cap andhigh quality folding sling swivels. The pistol grip cap shows an inscription panel of the type favored by Pachmayr. The rifle is mounted with a Pachmayr side-swing mount and shows a folding rear sight, standard model 70 type rear sight, 2x7 power Redfield scope. The action has been polished, the bore is excellent. The trigger is a positive 3-4lb release.
