Offered for sale is a exceptional example of a Western Field 750A 30-06 Rifle with Scope. The rifle features a custom carved walnut stock, heavy trigger guard, hitched horsehair sling, bright nickel bolt and handle, and 22" barrel. The ornate walnut stock features intricate leaf pattern engravings, and a running whitetail forest scene. This is a Golden State Arms rifle. Golden State Arms, also known as Pasadena Firearms, was a major military surplus importer, wholesaler, and retailer, located in the Pasadena area 1952-1966. Major to the point they did short term jobs with almost every rifle stock maker, refinisher, gun machine shop, etc in the Western United States, and often nationwide, during their existence. Like the JC Higgins and Glendfields from the other major catalog companies, the Montgomery Wards’ “Western Fields” brand was stamped on guns made by some of the biggest names in the U.S. firearm industry – Savage, Mossberg and Marlin to name a few. These are budget guns of old and some are considered highly prized collectibles. The rifle is marked "Western Field Model 750A 30-06 Caliber." The rifle is in good condition, with 85% bluing and light wear. The rifle is a Curios and relics firearm and requires a FFL transfer or NICS background check. The serial number is X9254.
