Custom Remington Model 58 semi-auto shotgun, engraved, gold inlaid, 12 gauge, blue finish, custom deluxe checkered wood stocks. This gun is in overall excellent condition as extensively customized, fine bore and action, beautifulengraving on the frame and back end of the barrel with gold inlaid game scenes on both sides of the receiver, engraved pistol grip cap with inlaid gold initials “NCG”; Cutts Compensator, leather sling, finely grained checkered wood stocks withMonte Carlo check piece and hard rubber butt pad; ivory diamond inlays in fore stock. Accompanied by original letter from Dietrich Apel of New England Custom Gun Service, W. Lebanon, New Hampshire indicating this gun’s custom stock was made byKurt Jaeger, Mainz-Germany, made in 1958, fancy French walnut, engraved steel grip cap with gold inlayed monogram, checkered to match forend. The letter also notes that the engraving was done by Emil Willig, Master-Engraver for Kurt Jaeger inMainz-Germany. The letter also states that this gun was custom made for a Sergeant Gage, who was stationed in France with the American Forces. A classic customized shotgun with interesting provenance.
