Custom Engraved Colt Single Action Frontier Six Shooter Revolver with Pearl Grips
This Colt Single Action Army Revolver was manufactured in 1887 and subsequently custom embellished approximately 100 years later in the 20th Century. The revolver is nickel-plated with two-piece pearl grips and has the desirable "FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" markings acid-etched in an oblong panel on the left side of the barrel. The revolver is decorated with Germanic scroll engraving on a punch-dot background. Coverage of the non-factory engraving approximates Colt factory "B" engraving. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." in a single line. The caliber designation "44" is stamped on the underside of the barrel. The left side of the frame is roll-stamped with the Colt "three dates/three line" patent markings. "44 CAL" is stamped on the left front trigger guard bow. The loading gate is stamped with the assembly number, "377". The serial number, 121533" is stamped on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and backstrap. All of the visible serial numbers match.
