Curtiss-Wright R-1750-E "Cyclone" Aircraft Engine (55x48") Designed by E.T. Jones, Sam Heron, Charles Lawrence and P.B. Lawrence, the R-1750 was put into production in late 1927 and used in the Douglas T2D-1 aircraft. The R-1750 was soon made obsolete by the R-1820 with its improved cylinder finning, forged crankcase and provision for variable pitch propellers. Douglas Aircraft chose to use the R-1820 in the DC-1 aircraft. This engine put out 525 horsepower at 1,900 RPM. It displaced 1,750 cubic inches and weighed 760 lbs. It includes a red metal moveable display stand. This particular engine has a US Army Air Corps ID plate attached to it and appears to be in excellent condition. Rare. Professional packing/shipping required. Ex: the Santa Monica Museum of Flying collection. Estimate: $ 2,500 - 3,500
