<B>Edward S. Curtis Original Portfolio Photogravure "An Assiniboin Camp" Plate 107</B></I> on Zonen Holland Van Gelder paper, copyright 1908. Original image size 16" x 11.75" with the plate number at upper left, title at lower left, and captioned at the bottom "From Copyright Photograph 1908 by E. S. Curtis" and "Photogravure John Andrew & Son". Matted and custom framed to an overall size of 25.5" x 21.5". The Assiniboin (Assiniboine) are an old group of Native Americans similar to the Lakota (Sioux) in many regards and considered to be a band of the Nakoda. Curtis writes in Volume 3 of <I>The North American Indian,</B></I> "In making their camps the Indians often choose most picturesque spots." Excellent condition.
