Contract, signed “Curtis Charles Flood,” four pages on two adjoining sheets, 8.5 x 11, August 31, 1966. National League uniform player’s contract in which Curt Flood agrees to render "skilled services as a baseball player during the year 1967” for the St. Louis Cardinals, for a salary of $50,000. Signed at the conclusion in blue ballpoint by Flood and countersigned by Cardinals General Manager Bob Howsam and National League President Warren Giles. In fine condition.

Curt Flood's exceptional play on the field yielded seven consecutive Gold Glove Awards. But his contributions to the game and its players off the field will forever be remembered, as in 1969 Flood dared to challenge baseball's decades old 'reserve clause.' His legal actions led to the lucrative 'free agency' players thrive on today.
