<td width="100%">
Curly maple American Federal tilt-top tripod candlestand with shaped top and spider legs. Pennsylvania, ca. 1810. Robustly turned pedestal lends strong folk art character. Another original extra touch is the notch carving at pedestal bottom. Curly maple figure is more pronounced than photos show. For collectors who prize old surface, this has its original dense red wash, now crusty as you like it. Stand is very heavy, thus has a commonly-found split at bottom of pedestal at leg dovetail joint. This split long ago filled but no replacements, excellent overall condition. Top 16 x 15.5, H 27.5 (top closed). Authenticity guaranteed. Far above your ordinary run-of-the-mill candlestand!
