Crow Spontoon War Tomahawk w/ Fringed Drop c. 1860
This is an authentic and important documented Spontoon Spike War Club Tomahawk dating to circa 1860 and attributed to the Crow Native American Indians. The piece was part of the famous Reinhold Wurzel collection in Frankfort, Germany and was acquired by noted collector Ben Thompson. John Baldwin was the author of such important books as, “Tomahawks, Pipe Axes: Of the American Frontier”, “Early Knives & Beaded Sheaths of the American Frontier”, “Indian Guns Spears & Shields of the American Frontier (of the American Frontier Series)”, “Bows, Arrows & Quivers of the American Frontier” and more.
