This is a rare and excellent 19th Century fully beaded skull cracker stone headed war club attributed to the Crow Native American Indians in Colorado. The piece shows a stone bi-pointed head with a high polished and nice yellow to brown coloring attached to a wood haft handle which has completely covered in period correct 19th Century glass trade seed beads in a linear geometric design with a drop end of frilly hand cut Indian tanned hide fringe hanging 19 inches off the haft. This example shows beadwork along with parfleche top strap holding the stone head and has a fantastic artful appeal and well-preserved condition. Provenance: From the ex-collection of Ted and Lilly Jarvis and Tom Hardy. Measures overall 22 inches in length with a head that is 6 ½ inches.
