This is a wonderful Crow fully beaded awl belt case from the 19th Century. The piece shows an original "The Museum Shop Mabton, Wash." tag which also reads, "B-249 PLAINS INDIAN AWL CASE BJ.JJ". The case shows an Indian tanned hide covered parfleche rawhide case that is covered in period correct 1800's glass trade seed beads in the iconic "crazy crow" multi-colored pattern. The bag shows the original top Indian tanned belt strap, fully beaded case cover or lid, long fringe at the top and wide long tail or tongue fringe that is fancy beaded. The beadwork shows an impressive collection of petit and seed beads such as greasy yellow, red white hearts, cobalt, Cheyenne pink, sky padre blue, chalk white, amber, corn yellow, various greens and blues. The bag displays wonderfully for being of such an early age. Provenance: From a large Native American antiques collection in Great Falls, Montana. Measures overall 17"L with an additional 8"L top strap.
