This is a museum quality Crow Native American Indian beaded cradleboard (cradle board) from circa 1880-1890. The piece was recovered from Lame Deer, Montana. The piece shows a wood form construction with a muslin and early trade calico clothe cover. The cradleboard has excellent classic Crow Indian beadedwork on Indian tanned hide showing early glass trade seed beads in sky blue, semi-transparent amber, semi-transparent medium green, medium green, semi-transparent dark red & red, Cheyenne pink, orange, and more. The papoose or cradleboard shows center straps constructed of White Buffalo or Mountain Goat hide and the entire piece has a Indian tanned hide strand wrapped and red trade clothe edge. The top and bottom have iron brass trade bells. Provenance: From a large Native American Indian collection in Billings, Montana. Museum quality piece showing overall good condition. Measures 29"L x 8.5"W.
