Featured in this lot is a Native American Crow Apsaalooke Indian, fully top beaded sash belt, circa 1930's from the renowned Otto Ernst Collection. The sash shows a fine Indian tanned hide core with hide strings shown on either side of the of the sash. The sash shows a fully top beaded sash with glass trade seed beads in colors of iridescent periwinkle blue, green, dark green, Cheyenne pink, rose, red, black, pumpkin yellow, orange, and cobalt trade beads. The pattern shows floral arrangements of decorated flowers and leaves throughout.
Buckle is Navajo coin silver with a polished Blue Gem turquoise cabochon. Coin Silver, when used in association with vintage Native American jewelry, is a term used to refer to the alloy that resulted when pre-1965 US silver coins were melted down to reuse in jewelry making.
