Crockett Silver Mounted Floral Spurs c. 1930's
Featured in this lot are Crockett silver mounted floral spurs, circa 1930s. The spurs feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted iron and silver mounted construction with a 16 tine rowel with silver mounting along the outside frame of the spurs with floral conchos and adorning the spur strap button. The spurs are marked 'Crockett' on the frame and the spur straps show thick leather. Crockett silver-mounted spurs are highly regarded among collectors and enthusiasts of Western memorabilia for their quality craftsmanship, distinctive designs, and historical significance. These spurs were produced by the Crockett Bit & Spur Company, a prominent maker of Western tack and accessories based in the United States. The Crockett Bit & Spur Company was founded in the early 20th century, around 1910, by Oscar Crockett in Pecos, Texas. The company later moved to Loveland, Colorado, where it became one of the most well-known and respected manufacturers of bits, spurs, and other Western gear. The condition of this pair of Crockett spurs is well preserved with some oxidation to the frame and patina to the mounted silver and the spur straps feature typical wear, but otherwise they are well preserved. The measurements of the spurs are 1 1/4" x 10" x 4 1/2" for each. The collective weight of these spurs is 1lb 10oz.*
