Lot of 2, both incorporated in Colorado. 1) Anaconda Extension Gold Mining Co. Cert. #49 issued to N.E. Guyot in 1982 for 1000 shares. Signed by president and by S.M. Kirkland, secretary. Cancelled by red writing across face. XF. 2) Anaconda Gold Mining Company. Cert., #4977 issued to John H. Royer for 100 shares in 1896. Signed by D.H. Moffat, president, and by secretary. Cancelled by hole punches through signatures. Stub glued to left border. Moffat (1839-1911) worked as a cashier of the First National Bank of Denver, later becoming its president. He developed many gold and silver mines in Colorado. He built the Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad, which connected the Cripple Creek mines with the Denver & Rio Grande system, spending $11 million of his own fortune in a heroic effort to breach the Colorado Rockies with a railroad.
