<B>Criminals on the Run V4#7 Davis Crippen ("D" Copy) pedigree (Curtis, 1949) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages.</B></I> As famous as the "fish in the face" cover is among comic connoisseurs, there sure aren't many copies out there -- this is the only one that CGC has certified to date! The fish-flinger is actually Young King Cole, who had his own book for a while, and the artist is his namesake L. B. Cole. A couple of notes here: the latter Cole was no stranger to field and stream stuff, he did a few covers for <B>Rod and Gun</B></I> magazine in his day, too! Also, the blank box at the upper left appears on every copy, it's the spot where the words "Curtis Distributed" appeared on previous issues. Overstreet 2006 VF/NM 9.0 value = $515; NM- 9.2 value = $700.
