<B>Crime Patrol #15 Gaines File pedigree 6/11 (EC, 1950) CGC NM- 9.2 Off-white to white pages.</B></I> The New Trend of EC Horror begins with this important transition issue, which features a "Crypt of Terror" cover, and introduces the Crypt Keeper. One more issue of <B>Crime Patrol</B></I> would follow before the name changed (briefly) to <B>Crypt of Terror</B></I>, and then to <B>Tales From the Crypt</B></I>. Legend has it that the Crypt Keeper was inspired by "Old Witch Nancy" from the old "Witch's Tale" radio program of the 1930s. This issue was used in the New York Legislation Committee's study on comics in 1956. Part of publisher Bill Gaines personal stash of unread ECs, this lovely file copy is extremely sharp and attractive. Overstreet 2006 NM- 9.2 value = $3,950.
