For your consideration is this Grosset & Dunlap edition of “Cowboys North and South” by Will James. This is a profusely illustrated copy with illustrations by the author. This book is a firsthand story telling of the author’s experience at cow camp and working the range as a cowboy. Will James (June 6, 1892 - September 3, 1942) was a French-Canadian artist and writer of the American West. He is known for writing “Smoky the Cowhorse”, for which he won the 1927 Newbery Medal, as well as numerous "cowboy" stories for adults and children. His artwork, which predominantly involved cowboy and rodeo scenes, followed "in the tradition of Charles Russell", and much of it was used to illustrate his books. This book shows its original decorative tan cloth with maroon stamped vignette on the front cover. The plastic covered paper dust cover is still with this book. The condition of this book is good. The measurements of this book are 8" x 5 1/2".
