Cowboy and Western Heartthrob Vintage Photograph Collection
A rare collection of Cowboy and Western heartthrobs (19) ca. 1925-1960 (approx. 3 ½ x 5 ½ - 8 x 10 in.). These are variety of vintage photographs and black and white, color tinted and color arcade cards and of notable celebrities. This collection includes singing sensation Randy Boone (pictured with his horse), violinist Betty Compson with Duke Kahanamoku from the film "The Pony Express", character actor Henry Carey, television star Michael Landon, the 60s icon famous for portraying Jesse James, Chris Jones, leading man James Drury and the star of "The Virginian, Canadian born actor Rod Cameron, trick rodeo rider Ken Maynard, Tex Ritter and the finally the "King of the Cowboys" Roy Rogers.  Also included is one squad postcard of Gene Autry, Tom Tyler, and Leo Maloney.  Most of the cards and photos are stamped on the front made in the U.S.A. with photographic reproduction of an original autograph of the actors’ name. Verso some postcards are blank with some pencil markings. Others postcards include manufacturing credit as well as space for mailing correspondence. Verso on Rod Cameron's postcard is responding to a fan's request for memorabilia and dated 1949.
