Tribal ritual Jar, so-called because they have only been found in the environs of Cotabato of Mindanao island. Dating to the 15th to 18th centuries, they had multiple uses as water, wine and fish sauce or soup containers, as well as a final duty as burial jars for the tribal elite. Intact and unrepaired, the bottom is wear from being scraped numerous times. A nice and decorative jar with some designwork at the upper shoulder. 11-1/4" tall and about 13" across.
