The hydrosuit ‘Forel’ was designed for the use at emergency landings on water

This wetsuit is used for emergency landings on water. It is the model ‘Forel’, which was made in 1984 for the crew of the spaceship ‘Soyuz T-12’. It was used in the training of the cosmonauts A. A. Volkov, V. V. Vasjutin, V. A. Solovjev and L. D. Kisim.

The present suit still possesses of the isolated brown mittens, as well as of the integrated inflatable west with inflation tube and mouthpiece. The rubberized nylon overall in orange has got a zipper in front. On the sides are two folded leg pockets with Velcro fastener. On top is a rubber hood that is inscribed with the letters ‘CCCP’. At the arm ends are grey, elastic rubber cuffs. The attached boots can be closed with rods that run through 36 eyelets. An emergency light is attached to the suit at chest height and the light is battery-powered. A triangular patch is attached to the left shoulder. This patch depicts a rocket starting from the earth as well as the lettering ‘CCCP’.

The wetsuit is in very good condition. There are slight traces of wear merely at the rubber soles. The dimensions of the suit are 170 x 60 cm (height x width).
