Corporation of Little Rock $1 Dec. 13, 1839 Rothert 420-4
A neat piece of early Arkansas scrip that is seldom seen in any grade. This particular example was made payable to and endorsed on the back by Albert Pike, the well known Arkansas newspaperman and lawyer who later became infamous for his stint as a Brigadier General in the Confederate Army. A regiment of Cherokee troops was under his command during the Battle of Pea Ridge, where they collected about 25 Yankee scalps. Pike quickly lost his command when the scandal became public knowledge. Very Good-Fine, with a couple of minor stains that are immaterial to the note's overall appearance.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
