Coronation Street Autographs Of Angela Crow, Betty Alberge, Lynne Carol, Philip Lowrie, Singer She
Coronation Street Autographs Of Angela Crow, Betty Alberge, Lynne Carol, Philip Lowrie, Singer Sheila Buxton - In 2010, England's most beloved TV soap opera, "Coronation Street" became the world's longest-running TV soap opera, having begun in 1960, and continuously being on the air for 55 years (and is still going strong today!), with over 1,800 episodes, 150 awards, and 200 nominations. It is based on a fictional town in Salford, England, and the "working class" folks who live there, showing their daily dramas in their small homes, cafés, shops, pubs, and the main source of income, a textile factory. The TV show is filmed in Manchester, England, where a major fan of movies, TV and especially the new phenomenon of British Rock was born. Her name was Teresa Doherty, and she was known as one of the all time grand collectors of autographs. This is a collection of some of her autographs, that she collected between 1961-1963 of the stars of the series... a show that she still watches today! Some of these stars are still on the show, others have retied, and others have passed on to the great soap opera in the sky. However, they are quite rare, and wonderful to have together in this collection. It includes Angela Crow who played Doreen Lostock from 1961-1970; Betty Alberge who played Florrie Lindley for 95 episodes (1960-1965); Lynne Carol, who played the delightfully evil busybody (and all of England cheered when they killed her off!) from 1960-1964; and Philip Lowrie who played the character of Dennis Tanner from the shows beginning in 1960 to 1968, and then returned in 2011 and played the same character until 2014. As an extra bonus, the collection also includes another rare autograph, that of icon Singer-Actress Sheila Buxton, known as "The Voice" for her astonishingly beautiful and powerful vocals in her top 40 hits in the UK, including "Sixteen Reasons", as well as her acting roles such as the lead in the English classic feature "The Shakedown" (1960). The autographs come with a detailed Letter of Provenience from Teresa Doherty herself. Autograph pages are 4.5"x4". Some are present on both sides of the page, since they come directly from her autograph book.
