<B>CDV of Cornelia C. Woodhull, First Female Presidential Candidate.</B></I> Woodhull, looking every inch the proper Victorian lady, is shown in profile. The CDV mount is imprinted "Mrs. Woodhull, (broker). No backmark. Minor verso stains, else fine condition. Cornilia Woodhull (1838-1872) was an early feminist with an extraordinary capacity for enterprise. Cornelius Vanderbilt helped establish her as Wall Street's first female broker. She was also a radical journalist espousing social reforms that would not come to fruition until the 1960s.
