<B>Cornelius Vanderbilt II Autograph Letter Signed</B></I> "<I>C. Vanderbilt</B></I>". One page, 5.5" x 8.5", New-York and Harlem Railroad Co. letterhead, New York, October 25, 1871, to A. C. Brown. From the treasurer's office, this favorite grandson of the legendary Commodore Vanderbilt writes about a McAuliffe case in which he volunteers to "<I>...request the Coroner when he calls to stop by and see you...</B></I>" This railroad was one of the first railroads in the U.S. and possibly the first street railway, running north from Lower Manhattan to Harlem and beyond. It is now the Metro-North Railroad Harlem Line. Very good condition with folds and some minor stains, mounted at the top to a stiff card. <I>From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.</B></I>
