<B>Cornelius Vanderbilt Funeral Program and Autograph Note Signed</B></I> "<I>C. Vanderbilt</B></I>". This lot includes a small booklet entitled <I>In Memoriam</B></I> published on the occasion of Cornelius Vanderbilt's death and published by the Executive Committee of the Board of Trust of Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, 1877. The booklet is bound in paper wraps and contains 47 pages of tribute to Mr. Vanderbilt, including the sermon at his funeral. The covers are slightly age toned with a few small tears and chips and the spine has been reinforced with cellophane tape, else the internal contents are still sound. Included is an undated, one page, 5" x 6" autograph note reading "<I>I most earnestly hope that this result may be attained…</B></I>" The ANS has the usual fold marks but is in very good condition.
