Universalist minister (1896-1968) who served the parishes of the Universalist Church of Taunton and the Universalist Church of the Redemption in Boston, Massachusetts, and later as the pastor of All Souls Universalist Church in Brooklyn, New York. While pastor of All Souls he led an opposition to the merger of the American Unitarian Association and the Universalist Church of America. As a result, he and his congregation left the Universalist denomination and affiliated with the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches in 1961. Three items: two ALSs and one TLS, one signed “Connie” and the other two signed “Connie” and “Cornelius Greenway.” All on All Souls Universalist Church stationery, each written between 1947 and 1951, and each thanking the recipient for recent correspondence. In very good condition. Accompanied by one of the original mailing envelopes addressed by Greenway. This is the first occasion we have had to offer Greenway’s signature, who himself was a major autograph collector who amassed one of the most impressive collections of his time.
