Dated "1-44" on the Underwood barrel, this carbine as a series of cutouts on the right and top sides to demonstrate the inner workings. Late war configuration, with Type III band and adjustable rear sight. The entire right side of the stock from the recoil plate to the end of the operating rod has been cut away, with additional cuts in the gas block, op rod, chamber, breechblock, magazine and trigger group. An inert, cutaway bullet is secured in the chamber, with an additional blockage ahead of the gas port. Smooth stock, with no makers marks.

Condition: Near mint as assembled/made, with 95% of the dark parkerized finish, with a plum tone on the trigger group and some scattered pitting. The extractor claw is absent, and the firing pin is out of place. Stock is near mint, with a few pressure dents.
