<td width="100%">
One of the first patented copy machines! This lovely copy press machine by Mordan and Co. of London is housed in an exquisite quarter sawn oak stationery writing slope. In addition to the center well that houses the brass screw down press, the writing cabinet opens to reveal ornately carved scalloped edge dividers, a pen tray, two inkwells, a three compartment perpetual calendar (change the cards every day, date & month)two top copartments with lids, a scratch slate, note holder,and its original key. A brass peg keeps the paper drawer closed. When that is removed, the paper tray with its original instruction label under the lid can be accessed. The registration number #3184 dates it to 1884.
