This console dish was originally a square shaped, solid, and controlled "bubble within the glass" work of art. Then the glass blower rounded its sides and pulled its corners into a skewed square! (Or, is that now a funny triangle??!!) As with the "Figure 8" vase described in Item GL-130107, the square shape on the top of the bowl then vies with the "normal" bottom for the viewer's perception.

This is part of the magic of this piece of glass. Not only is it of fine, heavy quality with the signature controlled bubbles--here, stretched within the walls of the console dish as the design expands--but it skews one's expectations further by its apparent misshapenness. Upon further inspection, the misshapenness begins to create its own sense and inducts the viewer into the world of the artist's perception. Such is the work of successful art.

The console dish varies between 2 3/4 and 3 1/4 inches in height according to the rise and fall of the top. The top measures 10 x 8 1/4 x 12 inches. This console dish is in excellent condition!

The glass is a light green-yellow color. Pictures show the console dish with and without flash.

This dish is a stunner and a must-have for the modern art glass collector!
