<B>Continental Currency September 26, 1778 $30 Blue Paper Counterfeit Detector About New.</B></I> Counterfeit detectors were printed on blue paper, from the actual plates, and distributed to banks and merchants for counterfeit detection purposes. The blue paper was intended to prevent the notes from being falsely signed and circulated. Only a relative handful of these detectors exist today and they always attract considerable collector attention when they appear.
