Contemporary California dirk knife inspired by Michael Price and Will & Finck of San Francisco, CA signed J. Sornberger, Volcano, California. J Sornberger is considered the premier master knife Smith working in this gold rush inspired style. The knife measures 9 ½” overall with a 5 1/16” blade that is precision ground and polished. The hilt and grip are German silver inset with panels of jewelry quality abalone on both sides and the scabbard is also German silver with front side inlaid with arrowhead shape inlay. Sornberger knives are always desirable to collectors and replacement value estimated at $3500 and a long waiting period for delivery. Est.: $1,500-$3,000.
