JC-30101-29 In the years before his death in 337 A.D., Constantine I minted coins paying homage to Rome, and others to Constantinople.  The obverse of both was similar, featuring a helemeted bust in profile.  The reverse differed, however.  The city commemoratives of Constantinopolis typically feature Victory standing facing, looking left, her foot on a prow, holding a sceptre and resting her left hand on a shield.  The city Commemoratives of Rome typically depict a she-wolf sckling Remus and Romulus, the mythical founders of the city of Rime.
