A) This set of prototype revolvers were manufactured for Colt by Iver Johnson. They feature the standard markings and features with the added roll mark "WEST POINT 175th YEAR COMMEMORATIVE" on the left side of the barrel. The factory letter confirms the configuration, that it came in an Iver Johnson box and that it was kept by the Colt factory as a sample of early Second Generation production by Colt Blackpowder Arms Company. With the original Iver Johnson box numbered to the gun.

Excellent, 98% of the original blue finish remains with a light drag line on the cylinder and some scattered minor scratches and dings. The casehardened components retain 95% plus of the vivid case colors with some scratches on the loading lever, some areas of fading and some very minor freckling. The grip is excellent with only minor marks. There is some tarnish on the front sight blade. The box is very good with one corner split and some tape residue.

B) Consecutively numbered to the "A" gun. The factory letter confirms the configuration, that it was in an Iver Johnson box numbered to gun and that it was kept by the Colt factory as a sample of early second generation production. With Iver Johnson box numbered to the gun.
