<B>Conrad Wiegand Half-Ounce Silver Ingot.</B></I> This diminutive-sized silver ingot was issued by the controversial Nevada assayer in the the late 1860s. He was a former employee at the U.S. Mint in San Francisco, but was such a disruptive force he was eventually dismissed. The small punches on the top side read: OZ 0.50 / g 57 / S 932 / FINE (sideways) / $1.19. The right long side reads: C. WIEGAND / ASSAYER. Light gray patina.
